Girls' Day 2023 was a success!

The MCML had the pleasure to work with young talents on this year's Girls' Day at LMU München

It was great to meet the next generation of smart and enthusiastic young people who are interested in pursuing careers in the field of ML. It’s important to encourage and support talents from a young age to pursue their interests in these fields, and to break down any existing barriers!

  • Milena Wünsch thought the girls how to use statistics and data sets to predict the survivability of passengers on the Titanic. At the end, the girls were able to input their own data to see if they would have survived or not.

  • Nina Rodriguez taught how to program a chatbot. The girls learned basic prompts and how to teach a ChatBot to ask questions. They were able to customize the software and make their own versions of the Bot.

  • Azade Farshad and Anna Reithmeir taught the basics of image generation. They explained how neural networks function and gave the girls an introductory look into how deeplearning works.

  • The day finished with Olga Kononykhina giving some insight into the various career options and types of work that can be done with a Data Science or AI degree.

Thank you to our partner Women in AI & Robotics who has the same vision as we have!
