Our DSSG team visited Berlin

The Data Science for Social Good fellows visited Berlin to meet politicians and talk about AI

Our Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) fellows had the privilege of visiting the Bundeskanzleramt and meeting members of the German Parliament in Berlin.

Our team got a tour at the Bundeskanzleramt and a presentation of the newly founded Datalab. In addition, the fellows and the rest of the DSSGx Munich 2023 team had the honor to meet and present their projects to important personalities of our parliament.

This visit was a remarkable journey. Our teams are working tirelessly to address real-world challenges, leveraging the power of datascience to drive meaningful change. We are glad to see, that this work is recognized and valued by our government. Visiting the heart of German politics and innovation was an awesome reward.

Thank you so much for having us and for this great and inspiring opportunity!

DSSG with Holger Becker

The first was Holger Becker (Member of Parliament/MoP, SPD).
He introduced our team to the Digital Agenda of our government, shedding light on Germany’s digital priorities. The discussions were both enlightening and inspiring, giving a promising look into Germany’s future of AI.

DSSG with Daniel Föst

After that, Daniel Föst (MoP, FDP), shared insights into the FDP’s Digital Agenda and their vision for the future.
We also talked about perspectives for future cooperations and discussed about the importance of projects like "Data Science for Social Good" for the Public Sector.

DSSG with Mario Brandenburg

Lastly, the team met up with Mario Brandenburg (MoP, FDP), our Parliamentary State Secretary of the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung.
Here our team continued discussing about the importance to use data science to drive meaningful change.
