Our MCML PIs Bernd Bischl, Stephan Günnemann and David Rügamer and MCML PhD Lisa Wimmer received the Best Paper Award for the Research Track at the ECML PKDD 2023 with their paper 'Towards Efficient MCMC Sampling in Bayesian Neural Networks by Exploiting Symmetry'. The paper is a joint work with J. G. Wiese and T. Papamarkou.

Impact Bootcamp towards Food Security & Nutrition @LMU Munich
The Munich Center for Machine Learning is organizing together with impACTup!, Netlight Consulting GmbH and ZD.B / LMU Media Informatics Group this two-part event, where we aim to shift researchers and students in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence into an entrepreneurial mindset. With input from experts and hands-on experience, we want to highlight the chances and risks that a career as a founder and entrepreneur can hold in contrast to research. This edition of our event aims to unlock the potential of start-ups utilizing AI to ensure food security.

In the RepliSims project, we assessed replicability of eight highly cited statistical simulation studies in teams of replicators based on reported information in the original publications. The talk will go over the lessons learned from this replication endeavor as well as the findings on replicability of the evaluated studies.
