Teachers at all types of schools are faced with the challenge of designing teaching and learning settings that enable young people to acquire the skills they need to deal with artificial intelligence. The project KITrans focused on cross-institutional cooperation in the design of a hybrid further education and training program for teachers with the aim to make a contribution to the necessary transformation processes in the education system. Using concrete examples, practical strategies and participatory involvement, the results of the project enable teachers to design future-oriented lessons.
The project was led by Prof. Dr. Uta Hauck-Thum (LMU) and Junge Tüftler.
The MCML supported the project with expertise in the area of AI and provided its junior members with further pedagogical training.
During the project, concepts for different learning levels and school types were developed, which were tested, reflected upon, and adapted to the respective needs in a co-creative process with teachers. This has resulted in teaching and learning materials with, about, and despite AI for future-oriented teaching. To promote the professional development of women in technical fields, MCML partners with different organisations. Together, we offer interested schoolgirls the chance to explore the daily work of AI researchers, data scientists and other professions.
