Voluntary Social Year in Science, Technology, and Sustainability

MCML offers a Voluntary Social Year in Science, Technology, and Sustainability (FJN) starting in September 2026. Participants support science management, event organization, and public outreach, while gaining insight into research and administrative processes at LMU and TUM within an international AI research environment.

What Does the Position Involve?

Your work will primarily consist of science support tasks with organizational and administrative duties, as well as event planning and assistance with public relations. Research-related tasks such as research activities may also be required. The MCML provides insights into the processes of the two strongest German universities. You will work in a team of ten science managers and student assistants. We manage the MCML, plan and organize events, and communicate science to society. Your workplace will be in our office in Schwabing. Teamwork is very important at MCML, most of the work at MCML is carried out in teams. However, you can also take on independent tasks within larger units.

What Requirements Do I Need to Meet?

You should have an interest in science in the field of AI and be interested in administrative and organizational tasks within science and science management. As a team player, you enjoy learning new things, are well organized, and service-oriented.
