How the Meta Algorithm Influences Election Advertising

Our PI Stefan Feuerriegel and his team, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and CENTAI from Turin, conducted a large-scale study on the topic of election advertising. In the run-up to the federal election, more than 80,000 political advertisements on Instagram and Facebook were analyzed. The algorithms seem to favor the contents of certain parties.
