MCML PI Barbara Plank has become President of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), serving on the ACL Executive Committee for 2026. As the world's leading professional organization for computational linguistics and natural language processing, ACL brings together researchers from academia and industry to advance language technologies through conferences, publications, and international collaboration.
As President, Barbara Plank will help guide the strategic direction of the organization and support the global computational linguistics community. Her appointment recognizes her longstanding contributions to natural language processing and reinforces MCML's leading role in advancing research and fostering international collaboration in AI and language technologies.
