Are you passionate about machine learning research and eager to pursue a PhD in a dynamic, international environment?

Each autumn, we open our annual Matchmaking Call for highly qualified candidates with an excellent master’s oder graduate degree in a relevant field.

MCML Matchmaking

These positions are open to highly qualified candidates interested in a career in machine learning research and pursuing a PhD degree. Positions include full stipend support and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and international research environment.

Please note that the Matchmaking Call 2026 is now closed, and no further applications can be accepted.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome by the end of March 2026 at the latest, regardless of the result. If a participating PI finds your profile particularly interesting, they may contact you directly between 1 December 2025 and 31 January 2026 to initiate a conversation.
