Opportunites for Junior Members

The MCML offers its junior members valuable initiatives to promote their professional and academic development, as well as to enhance research and collaboration within the community.

Tailored Activities for Junior Members

Besides our regular events, we offer special initiatives including regular meetups, industry pitch talks, which connect our junior members with industry leaders, or MCML workshops to promote research and collaboration. These programs are specifically tailored to foster growth and engagement in the field of machine learning, providing valuable opportunities for junior members to advance their skills and network within the community.

Check out upcoming events below.

MCML-Collab for Members

Many process flows (like assumption of travel costs etc.) and useful information (like mailing lists, templates) concerning MCML can be found in our MCML-Collab area at BayernCollab, which MCML members can access with their LRZ-ID.

Note for Using MCML-Collab

  • Login at BayernCollab with your LRZ-ID.

  • LMU members can look up their LRZ-ID in their LMU user account and (if you haven't already done so) activate it for Confluence. You can find a guide here.

  • TUM members can look up their LRZ-ID in their TUMonline account.

  • MCML-Collab has to be activated for each LRZ-ID manually, i.e. if you are logged in to BayernCollab and still cannot access the MCML-Collab area, please send us an email with your LRZ-ID. We will activate you.

Our PhD Coordinators

The PhD Coordinators are the primary contact for all our junior members with questions related to the MCML PhD program. They organize regular transfer activities and community-building events, such as the MCML Pitchtalk events, the PhD Onboarding events, and the MCML Stammtisch. Please feel free to contact our PhD Coordinators at any time on questions related to our program and activities.

Our Junior Member Representatives

The junior member representatives serve as a link between MCML directors/management team and the large cohort of junior members within MCML. They are elected to three-year terms by the junior members. Their role includes attending quarterly meetings with the MCML directors, organizing activities and networking opportunites for the junior members, and serving as a sounding board for any junior members who need support.
