MCML PI Göran Kauermann and Giacomo De Nicola from the LMU Department of Statistics, together with Michael Höhle from the Robert Koch Institute, have been awarded the Corona Special Prize of the Federal Statistical Office for two papers on estimating excess mortality in the pandemic years 2020 and 2021.
