How Will Artificial Intelligence Redefine Medicine in the Next Decade?

MCML Keynote at AI in Medicine Workshop 2025

The AI in Medicine Workshop 2025 brought together more than 120 experts from medicine and computer science at the Baltic, Charité’s innovation hub for digital health.

In the opening session, Heyo Kroemer (CEO, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin), Geraldine Rauch (President, TU Berlin) and Klaus-Robert Müller (Co-Director, BIFOLD) emphasized the strategic importance of AI, cross-disciplinary collaboration and Berlin’s role in digital innovation. BIFOLD, one of Germany’s AI competence centers and a key partner in our network, played a central part in shaping the event.

MCML Director Daniel Rückert delivered the first keynote “AI and the Future of Medicine" outlining how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, especially deep learning, can drive more personalized diagnostics, improve prognoses and better predict treatment responses.
