Academic Partnerships

MCML connects machine learning researchers across the globe. Through strategic international partnerships, research delegations to leading institutions, and programs supporting visiting scholars and early-career researchers, we foster collaboration that drives impactful AI research.

Partnerships From Our Research Delegations

Global Network

MCML researchers have a broad international network of collaborations. In addition to the partnerships and collaborations of individual research groups, MCML began building a network of academic partnerships with high-level institutions around the globe in 2024 to strengthen international and interdisciplinary collaborations.

In 2025, a delegation of about 20 members traveled to New York and Boston to strengthen transatlantic collaboration by building long-term institutional partnerships with leading universities in the USA. In 2026, another delegation will visit the UK to foster collaborations with universities and research institutions in London, Oxford, and Cambridge.

AI X-Change Program

Another way to promote international research collaboration is the MCML AI X Change program, which launched in 2024. The program aims to support MCML Junior Members in collaborating internationally with high-impact research institutions in the field of machine learning.

Visiting Scholars

MCML also provides (partial) funding opportunities for visiting scholars. Researchers from around the world are welcome to join our center, exchange ideas, and contribute to impactful AI research. These collaborations aim to foster joint research projects, establish co-supervised PhD programs, and enable faculty exchanges to facilitate sustained scientific dialogue.
