Digdeep Podcast: Foot vs. Shoe - How Do You Digitise Shoe Shopping, Matthias Brendel?

News From the Digital World by MCML PI Frauke Kreuter and Christof Horn

A third of shoes in Germany are bought online, yet sizing issues often lead to high return rates and waste.

Footprint, co-founded by Matthias Brendel, tackles this by allowing customers to measure their feet with a smartphone and matching them to the best-fitting shoes or models. This innovative solution reduces returns, cuts costs for retailers, and helps the environment. Matthias, who previously worked on innovations at Audi, shares his journey of founding Footprint and offers insights into building a successful startup.
