Digdeep Podcast: Human Friendly Automation – Does AI Work for Humans, or Are We Out in the End?
News From the Digital World by MCML PI Frauke Kreuter and Christof Horn
In this episode of #digdeep, Hanjo Gergs and Lars Schatilow, co-initiators of the Human Friendly Automation Alliance present the ideas about how to handle the rapid AI development.
The rapid development of agentic AI systems increasingly raises questions about how AI affects people and their professional futures. While companies primarily focus on increasing efficiency and reducing personnel costs, employees risk making their own jobs redundant by training and supervising AI systems. It is therefore becoming increasingly important to clarify what companies want to achieve with AI and what role humans should play in the future.
The Human Friendly Automation Alliance aims to bring companies and social partners together to develop shared values and guidelines for a human-centered approach to AI. In their book Human Friendly Automation: Rethinking Work and Artificial Intelligence, the initiative’s co-founders, Hanjo Gergs and Lars Schatilow, explore how a sustainable coexistence between humans and machines can be achieved.
