MCML Researchers Recognized with Awards at GCPR 2026
Outstanding Papers at the German Conference on Pattern Recognition
The 48th German Conference on Pattern Recognition (GCPR 2026) took place from September 22 to 25, 2026, in Siegen. It was held jointly with the 31st Vision, Modeling, and Visualization Symposium (VMV) and hosted by the Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS) at the University of Siegen. The organizers have now announced the Best Paper Awards and Honorable Mentions of both conferences.
The GCPR 2026 Best Paper Award went to "Concept Guidance: Precise, Training-Free Latent Control for Text-to-Image Generation" by Nikolai Röhrich, Isabell Hans, Felix Krause, and MCML PI Björn Ommer.
Two further GCPR papers received Honorable Mentions, both co-authored by MCML researchers. "Contrastive Energy Fields for Inference-Time Procedure Planning in Instructional Videos" is by Mohamed Afham Mohamed Aflal, Christoph Reich, Oliver Hahn, MCML Director Daniel Cremers, and Stefan Roth. "Ordered Diffusion for 3D Human Registration" is by Mattia Masiero, Ilya Petrov, Daniel Cremers, Gerard Pons-Moll, and MCML PI Riccardo Marin.
