Digdeep Podcast: China Speed Or Fight for Survival – What Does the Beijing Auto Show Show Us, Augustin Friedel?
News From the Digital World by MCML PI Frauke Kreuter and Christof Horn
In this episode of #digdeep automobile expert Augustin Friedel talks about the Beijing Auto Show.
The Beijing Auto Show has become the world's largest automobile show, with over 1,800 vehicles and more than 200 press conferences. Although China's current five-year plan deprioritizes electric mobility, the Chinese automotive industry remains a technological leader, particularly in batteries and digital vehicle functions.
A new focus is on developing its own chips for central vehicle computers in order to become less dependent on geopolitical risks and reduce costs. The focus of the text is impressions from Augustin Friedel and Christof, who deal with software-defined vehicles and analyze developments on site.
It will be discussed what challenges and opportunities China's rapid technological progress brings with it for European automobile manufacturers and what role partnerships and technology play in this.
