Munich AI Signature Lecture: Prof. Shafi Goldwasser

The next Munich AI Signature Lecture will feature Prof. Shafi Goldwasser, Turing Award recipient and one of the leading international experts in cryptography and theoretical computer science. On October 20, 2026, Goldwasser will speak on “A Cryptographic Perspective on Machine Learning Trustworthiness Challenges.”

Her lecture will explore machine learning trustworthiness from a cryptographic perspective, addressing fundamental challenges in ensuring that AI and machine learning systems can be trusted. The event brings together researchers and members of the broader AI community to discuss questions at the intersection of machine learning, security, and theoretical computer science.

The Munich AI Lectures are a platform for bringing internationally renowned AI researchers to Munich and fostering exchange between academia and the wider AI community. MCML is a partner of the Munich AI Lectures and supports the series by connecting its events with relevant scientific communities and networks.

The lecture will take place on October 20, 2026, at 18:00 in the Plenary Hall of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Munich, followed by a reception.
