Comparing Notes on Trustworthy AI: Agents in the World

The Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML) hosts the next event in the “Comparing Notes on Trustworthy AI” series on October 5, 2026, focusing on the ethics of embodied AI and increasingly autonomous AI agents. The event is organized as a panel discussion bringing together perspectives from philosophy, AI ethics, human–AI interaction, and data science.

The panel, titled “Agents in the World: The Ethics of Embodied AI,” is co-organized by MCML PI Benjamin Lange and Johannes Reisinger. It explores what happens when AI systems move beyond generating information and begin acting in the world, with topics including human autonomy, manipulation, responsibility, agency, transparency, and the data foundations of trustworthy AI.

The panel features Michael Klenk (University of Technology Nuremberg), Laura Crompton (Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt), and MCML PI Frauke Kreuter (LMU Munich / University of Maryland). The event is part of the “Comparing Notes on Trustworthy AI” series, organized by the appliedAI Institute for Europe in collaboration with MCML, the Liquid Legal Institute, and TUM Think Tank.
