Fifth Inria-DFKI European Summer School on AI (IDESSAI 2025)

Responsible AI and Machine Ethics and Twin AI

The Fifth Inria-DFKI European Summer School on AI (IDESSAI 2025), jointly organized by Inria and DFKI, offers a focused program on two timely themes: Responsible AI and Machine Ethics and Twin AI.

The program includes courses with hands-on labs and case studies, as well as input from industry practitioners and innovators. An additional 4-hour optional course on Entrepreneurship for Scientists will also be available.

Confirmed keynote speakers:

  • Holger Hermanns (Saarland University) – AI Act for the working AI engineers
  • Maximilian Kiener (Hamburg University of Technology) – Deep Ethics

Optional Track: Entrepreneurship for Scientists

Covers key steps from research to product development, team building, and go-to-market strategies, tailored to DeepTech.

Target audience includes PhD students in all areas of AI, but MSc students, postdocs, and researchers from academia and industry are also welcome to apply. The number of participants per track is limited to 50, with selection based on diversity and potential benefit from participation.

The event will be held fully in person at the Inria headquarters in Rocquencourt (close to Paris). Remote attendance is not possible.
