The next edition of the Munich AI Lecture series will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Plenarsaal of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Munich.

The invited speaker is Prof. Dr. Virginia Dignum, Professor of Responsible AI at Umeå University and head of the AI Policy Lab. She serves as Chair of the ACM Technology Policy Council and advises the Wallenberg Foundations on AI policy. Dignum is a Wallenberg Scholar, EURAI and ELLIS Fellow, and co-chair of the WEF Global Future Council on AI, among many other expert roles.

In her lecture titled “Responsible AI: Governance, Ethics and Sustainable Innovation”, Dignum will address how increasing autonomy in AI systems challenges existing governance structures and how ethical and sustainable approaches can guide the development of trustworthy AI.

A reception will follow the lecture from 7:45 to 9:00 PM.

The event will also be available via Livestream. The streaming link will be published on time on the Munich AI Lecture website.

Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
