Topological Methods in Computer Vision and Combinatorial Shadows of Persistence

MCML Authors

Abstract

This dissertation explores the versatility of Topological Data Analysis with a focus on persistent homology. It addresses both theoretical foundations and practical applications in image segmentation. New methods for integrating topological invariants improve segmentation quality, while algebraic analyses provide insights into the combinatorics of barcodes in short exact sequences.
