Visit from Federal and Bavarian Ministries to MCML
Strengthening Collaboration Between Research, Policy, and Industry for Impactful AI Innovation
The MCML had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts (StMWK).
The visit focused on the transfer of AI research into industry, highlighting how innovations can successfully move from fundamental research to practical applications. The discussions emphasized the importance of creating tangible economic and societal impact through close collaboration between academia, policymakers, and industry.
Among the quests were Alexandra-Gwyn Paetz, Engelbert Beyer, and Ulrike Völlinger from the Department of Technological Sovereignty and Innovation at the BMFTR, as well as Michael Greiner, Timo Niebsch, Carina Gerauer, Sophia Charlotte Bamidis, and Christoph Wild from the StMWK.
MCML was also pleased to welcome Philipp Baaske, LMU Vice President for Entrepreneurship, and Gerhard Kramer, TUM Vice President for Research and Innovation, who contributed valuable perspectives to the exchange.
We thank all participants for the open and constructive dialogue and look forward to continuing these important conversations in the future.
