Masterclass on Science Communication at MCML Munich AI Day
Collaboration With RHET AI Center and Tue.AI - A Short Recap
The MCML Munich AI Day 2025 began on a collaborative note with a masterclass on science communication, in collaboration with the RHET AI Center and the Tübingen AI Center. A group of PhD researchers and PostDocs came together to tackle a crucial challenge: how to make their AI research more accessible, engaging, and impactful beyond academic circles.
This hands-on workshop equipped participants with tools and strategies to communicate their research effectively to broader audiences. Together, we explored how science communication can increase visibility, citations, and even open doors to new funding opportunities.
The session focused on:
- Clarifying complex ideas without oversimplifying
- Understanding the role as a communicator and public expert
- Crafting narratives that resonate across different audiences
Throughout the morning, participants practiced communicating their own research and reflected on how to adapt their messages to different audiences.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to the discussions! Special thanks to Markus Gottschling for sharing your deep expertise and for guiding the group with clarity and enthusiasm. It was a real pleasure to welcome both you and Claudia Brusdeylins here in Munich!
