Girls' Day 2025
Exploring AI in Everyday Life
As part of this year’s Girls’ Day, we were excited to welcome a group of curious and motivated students to our workshop: “Learn how AI works and impacts our world.”
Workshop Highlights included:
• Spot the Fake!
How to recognize deepfakes and fake news – and how AI and social media can manipulate what we perceive as reality.
• Can AI Be Unfair?
A critical look at algorithmic bias, the myth of neutrality in AI systems, and how fairness is being tackled – including insights into the EU AI Act.
• AI & the Future of Work
Exploring how AI is reshaping the workplace – its potential, its pitfalls, and the skills needed for the future.

All sessions were designed to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on experience with real AI tools – from verifying images to discussing ethical implications of AI systems.
Thank you to all participants for your energy and questions – and a big thank you to our amazing team of organizers and speakers for making the workshop such a welcoming and inspiring experience.

This event was proudly supported by #MCML as part of our efforts to make machine learning accessible, understandable, and inclusive for the next generation.
