AI Symposium 2026
Showcasing AI Research Across LMU
09.11.2026
6:15 pm - 9:00 pm
LMU Main Building, Große Aula
The AI-HUB@LMU invites everyone interested in artificial intelligence, from academia, industry, and the wider public, to its annual flagship event, the AI Symposium (KI-Symposium). The symposium takes place on November 9, 2026, in the Große Aula of the LMU Main Building, and MCML is a partner of the event.
The program opens with a keynote by MCML PI Stefan Feuerriegel on scientific discovery in the AI age. Two rounds of pitch talks by newly appointed LMU professors will show the breadth of AI research across the university. Among them is MCML PI Valentin Hofmann, who will present his work on information and language processing using AI methods. A panel discussion will address generative AI and the future of university teaching, and LMU Vice President for Entrepreneurship Philipp Baaske will speak about IP transfer at LMU. The evening also includes the presentation of the AI-HUB@LMU Prizes for the best Master’s thesis in AI and the most innovative AI-based research project.
