Open Science and AI – Shaping the Future of Responsible Research

   15.09.2025 - 18.09.2025

   TU-Campus EUREF, Berlin

The 2025 Berlin Summer School on Artificial Intelligence and Society invites researchers and practitioners to explore the role of Open Science & Open Data in shaping responsible AI. In times of rapidly advancing generative AI, principles like transparency, accessibility, and collaboration are more essential than ever. The open exchange of datasets, methods, and results supports innovation, reproducibility, and fairness—ultimately leading to more trustworthy AI.

Organized by the BIFOLD Graduate School, the Cluster of Excellence Science of Intelligence, and the Weizenbaum Institute, the school spans 3.5 days and includes keynotes by renowned researchers, in-depth lectures, interactive hands-on sessions, and an excursion. Participants will also have time for discussions, exchange, and networking.

The program is designed for PhD students with an interest in machine learning, data management, and the societal dimensions of AI. Advanced Master’s students and postdocs are also welcome to apply.
